Moving, Thou Art A Heartless...

Ah moving, the wonderful dream-filled thoughts of packing up your belongings and setting out leisurely to your new home. Where you think that you can pair down your belongings into a few manageable boxes. Where the recommended moving truck will be more than enough. Where you can pack up and be done at your old place in just a few hours. When you think all of your friends who said they would help would show up at the same time to help, the promise of beer and pizza a given.

Wrong....

So...very....wrong....

This was the move that would never end! Although clearly it did....almost a month later. But that's besides the point. Moving is an ugly, sweat-drenched, tear inducing beast that smells like that old Chinese takeout box you forgot in the back of the fridge, at least I think it was Chinese. I wasn't brave enough to take a closer look. Forensics may need to be called to make the official call on that one.
At one point you couldn't see the couch, progress!

Oh yea and that moving truck. A little piece of advice for anyone looking to move: GET A BIGGER TRUCK THAN IS RECOMMENDED. We moved out of a tiny two bedroom apartment, it should have been a snap, ignoring the fact that we lived on the 3d floor. Bur my goodness was that truck stuffed to the gills not once, not twice, but three times. And on top of that we also hauled multiple car loads and pickup truck loads thanks to friends and family.

We are still in the process of organizing and puting away boxes, but I will say this, that move was one of the worst things I've ever done. But it really makes me appreciate our little farm. We have space, we can't hear the neighbors going to the bathroom, we don't have to fight over parking spots, the dogs think they live at the park, it was worth it.

So many sticks so little time, and it's really hard to get Tara to sit still for a picture when she's have so much fun.

We are home. Also f@!$ moving.
